Editor for experimental short
We are looking for an editor who has experience in experimental or art house film. The film is more so a visual narrative that follows a young girl who is led by her sexuality, dissociation, and search for identity and thus creates "black holes" that will ultimately lead to her self-crucifixion.
The film also focuses on shedding a different light on stripping and sex work. It depicts the life of a dancer through different surreal situations. You must be comfortable working on something of explicit and sexual nature.
Shooting is expected to wrap in December but I would like to find an editor within the next three weeks to provide footage and discuss the editing style and possible use of green screen for very basic special effects for two scenes in the coming shoot dates.
We do not want overly "gimmicky" or commercial styled editing. It should be slow paced with quick, choppy cuts leading to the grand finale.
There will most likely be two cuts of the film, one under 15 minutes and another 30 min.
We hope to submit the film to Cannes 2020, shortoftheweek.com, Nowness.com, and other festivals. You may view the current status and process of the film on Instagram @faultline_thefilm.
If you are interested please respond with examples or portfolio of your work. To better understand the tone or inspiration of the film as well as editing style please refer to films such as, Eraserhead (David Lynch),
Dogtooth (Yorgos Lanthimos), Gummo (Harmony Korine), and Immoral Tales (Walerian Borowczyk).
Please do not respond without examples of your work. Attached are some stills from the film currently.
